From: Gerard Mercator. Atlas sive cosmographicae meditationes, p. 347. Map of the Holy Land marking the territory from the mountains of Lebanon to the Dead Sea. Includes illustrations of the cities of Sodom, Gomorrah, Admah and Zeboim on fire in the Dead Sea, with decorative cartouches, ships and a variety of sea-creatures. Modeled after the map by P. Laicksteen and Chr.'s-Grooten (late 16th century).
