The text concerns itself with themes relating to the concept of Unity - that of God, the Jewish soul, the Jewish People, the Land of Israel and the deleterious ontological effect of Exile. See M. J. Heller, The Seventeenth Century Hebrew Book, Vol. I, pp. 294-5. The Author (1565-1619) a physician who was born in Prague, was a nephew of R. Isaiah Horowitz (The Shela’h HaKodosh).
