<<UNPUBLISHED AUTOGRAPH MANUSCRIPT.>> The author cites his teacher R. Abraham Shmuel Binyamin Sofer (Kethav Sofer). Born in a village outside Pressburg (Bratislava) in Slovakia, R. Abraham Glazner studied under Rabbi Avraham Shmuel Binyamin Sofer. When he came of age he married his teacher’s niece, the daughter of his brother-in-law, Rabbi David Tzvi Ehrenfeld (son-in-law of the Chassam Sofer). Between 1853-63 Glazner served as a rabbi in the city of Yanik until his appointment in 1863 to be Chief Rabbi of Klausenburg, remaining in that position until his death in 1877. R. Abraham corresponded with the great rabbis of the day including R. Yehuda Assad, R. Moshe Schick and others. His son was R. Moshe Shmuel, author of Dor Revi’i, who inherited his father’s position in Klausenburg.
