<<This unpublished manuscript>> contains correspondence from many of the leading Italian rabbinic scholars of the time, including Rabbis: Aviad Sar Shalom, Samson Nahmani, Yitzhak Pacifico; Haim Shabthai Morpurgo and others. Chief Rabbi of Trieste, R. Yitzhak Formegini (d. 1788) was a great Talmudist and a leading Halachic authority during this period. His responsa can be found in many of the important collections, e.g. Shemesh Tzedakah, Pachad Yitzchak and Derech Hamelech. He disputed with the Nodah B’Yehudah concerning matters of Chol Hamo’ed.
