Son of the legendary R. Nachum Levy of Shadik, R. Shlomo Zalman BaHaRaN was one of the founders of the Meah Shearim district of Jerusalem. He was renowned as an expert in the production of Ethrogim for which he would spend much time in the orchards of Jaffa.
