Alvaro Valasco was Supreme Curia of the Portuguese Senate and Professor of Law at the University of Coimbra. His dates are usually given as 1524-1593, however according to the frontispiece portrait he was 67 at the time of his death. WorldCat records no copy of the 1593 edition, only of a later edition (Venice, 1597)
