Contains a lengthy commentary by Eliahu Sarahsohn, the Maggid of Lomza and Suvalk. He later served as Rabbi of Peiser and as Maggid of the Great Synagogue of Jerusalem. The book is adorned with the haskamoth or encomia of the great halachic authorities who were Sarahsohn’s contemporaries: Rabbis Jacob Ettlinger of Altona, Meir Auerbach of Jerusalem, Tzevi Hirsch Chajes, Dov Berish Meisels of Warsaw, Jechiel Heller of Suvalk, and finally, Israel Salanter. (Haskamoth of the latter are rare).
