Itzik Manger (1909-1969), Yiddish poet, playwright and novelist, was born in Czernowitz, moving to London in 1939 to escape Nazi persecution. From there, he moved to New York in 1951 and finally settled in Israel in 1967. He is one of the finest Yiddish writers of the 20th century.
All three works here are presentation copies from Manger to his close personal friend Margaret Waterhouse.
Noente Geshtaltn un Andere Shriftn was first printed in Warsaw in 1938. In this volume, Manger paid tribute to Goldfaden, Eliakum Zunser, Berl Broder and other important Yiddish writers. The 1961 edition contains additional material
