The famous MaHaRa”L of Prague was one of the formost original thinkers and interpreters of the major problems and subjects of Jewish thought. His works have gained a resurgence of popularity in the modern era, under the influence of Rabbis A. Y. Kook, E. E. Dessler and Y. Hutner.
This copy belonged to the Beth Hamidrash of R. Lemle Rheinganum of Manheim, founded 1708, following an endowment of 100,000 guilden by Rheinganum. The volume also carries the signature of R. Samuel Zanvel, the son of MaHaRa”N Schiff. The final leaf contains a handwritten index according to the order of the Babylonian Talmud.
