The First Hebrew Periodical, of which only three issues were published.
Upon accepting a teaching position at the Ferrara Talmud Torah, Lampronti initiated a periodical of studies on Halacha and rabbinic literature. Only three issues appeared, with contributions mainly by his own students. Volume I concerns the custom of the Synagogue Cantor to prolong the Neilah prayer at the close of Yom Kippur with lengthy tunes, causing the Priestly Blessing to be intoned at nightfall. The discussion ruminates whether a well-entrenched custom should be abrogated in deference to Halacha. The second volume raises a similar issue: Due to the local melody utilized during the Priestly Blessing, the verses were mispronounced. As a result of the umbrage taken at this by one of the wealthy Priestly families of Ferrara, the publication was forced to discontinue. See I.
