A poem in praise of Napoleon as the “Great Saviour, Protector and Wisest of Kings,” with numerous Biblical and classical allusions. The majority of the Jews in Italy hailed Napoleon as a political liberator as he proclaimed the emancipation of the Jews in the Italian states which he established. He was called “Chelek Tov” (lit. “Good Part” - i.e Bona-Parte)
