Most unusual letter, in which R. Lipschütz urges his son to impress upon his betrothed brother, the necessity for physical separation following consummation on the Wedding Night, and refrain from further contact until ritually permissable. Rabbi Israel Lipschütz’s fame rest upon his commentary to the Mishnah, Tiphereth Yisrael, a considerable portion of which was augmented by his son, R. Baruch Isaac.
