From the Library of Akiva Eger, The Younger (1761-1837) A volume of mystical meditations before prayers and the performance of the precepts. The present manuscript is quite clearly weightier than published editions of the work. The inscriptions on the opening blank leaves, signed by Akiva Eger’s son, and again by a student, attest the manucript’s ownership to Rabbi Akiva Eger. In all secular documents, Akiva Eger signed himself Jakob Moses (as here). The ownership of the manuscript by R. Akiva Eger, would demonstrate, perhaps surprisingly, that he possibly had Kabbalistic inclinations, or, at the very least, a keen interest in such matters
