Exceptionally early Venezuelan Jewish imprint. Jesurun, a member of an old Sephardi family, wrote this catechism of Judaism for Jewish children at a time when no organized Jewish life existed in Caracas. Indeed, the earliest documentation of Jewish settlement in the capital of this South American republic is 1880. See EJ, V 157
