While Rabbis Yechezkel Landau and Yonoson Eybeschuetz require no biographical introduction, the other contributors left similarly impressive marks on Bohemian Jewry: R. Meir Fishels (1713-69), also known as Mahara”m Bumsla after his hometown, was the Rosh Yeshiva and Av Beth Din of Prague, serving on the same court as R. Yechezkel Landau, the Noda B’Yehuda. Among his students were Rabbis Eleazar Fleckeles (Teshuva Me’Ahavah) and Ya’akov Ginzberg (Zera Ya’akov). The eulogy for him delivered by R. Landau was reportedly dictated to him in a dream
