The standardized American version of the Reform Haggadah first appeared in 1907. Called the Union Haggadah for the Union of American Hebrew Congregations, it was published by the Central Conference of American Rabbis of Cincinnati, Ohio. Most of the text is in English, with a minimal use of Hebrew. “This work aims to supply the demand of those to whom the old form of the Haggadah no longer appeals. The really valuable contents of the Haggadah have been scrupulously preserved. The distinctively religious elements constituting the service itself have been carefully differentiated from the rest [and]…[w]hatever does not belong to the devotional part, has been relegated to a “Miscellany.” See: Y.
