Large outdoor sign belonging to the synagogue that formerly occupied 328 East 4th Street, in the East Village neighborhood of Manhattan. “Established in 1923 by the Kenihanitcher Rebbe, Shlita,” the synagogue was frequented by immigrants stemming from the village of Kniahynychi, in western Ukraine. The synagogue was abandoned some 50 years ago.
