Author of Nifla’oth MiTorath Hashem Yithborach, R. Tzvi Hirsch Schlez (1834-1914) studied under the Netziv in Volozhin. He established four Yeshivoth in Ukraine, in the towns of Cherkasy, Korsun, Uman and Orzischev. His father, R. Ben-Zion Shlez (d. 1896) was the son-in-law of R. Shabthai Yafeh and is buried on Jerusalem’s Mount of Olives.
