The last of Kaidanover’s works to be published. It was prepared for print by the author’s son, Tzvi Hirsch, who authored the ethical work Kav HaYashar. R. Aharon Shmuel Koidonover (1614-76) and the Sha’ch served together as Dayanim on the Beth Din of R. Moshe Lima in Vilna. The MaHaRaSH”K fled Poland during the Chmielnicki Uprising, during which time two of his daughters were killed. His son, Tzvi Hirsch later became rabbi of Frankfurt and composed the Kav Hayashar. He issued many of his father’s works. R. Dov Tzvi Rothstein (1930-2000) issued a scholarly edition of the Ri”F’s responsa.
