Menorath HaMa'or [“The Candelabrum of Light”: Ethical Treatise]

Second edition, with scarce final leaf. On title, signature of former owner: "Shimon Hakohen, Frankfurt." Formerly in the Kimche Library, Zurich. ff.132. Trimmed and stained. Modern calf. Folio. Vinograd, Venice 224.

Venice: Giovanni dei Farri 1544

Est: $700 - $900
First printed in Constantinople in 1514, Menorath HaMaor has remained throughout the centuries an immensely popular work of religious edification. The book is of immense value to scholars as well, preserving as it does Spanish-North African (as opposed to Franco-German) recensions of the legends of the Talmud. See EJ, Vol. II, cols. 90-91.
