Manuscript in Hebrew and Yiddish. Written on hand-ruled paper in an exquisite calligraphic Yiddish (‘vaybertaytsch’) and Hebrew hand. pp. 30. Light wear. Contemporary patterned boards, spine taped, extremities chipped. 4to.

A manuscript of heartfelt prayers in the Yiddish vernacular, to be recited alongside highlights in the High Holiday liturgy. These prayers, with occasional Hebrew, were traditionally intended for recitation by women. Includes prayers for Rosh Chodesh Elul, Selichos recited before Rosh Hashanah, the Aleinu prayer in the Musaf service, Ne’ilah of Yom Kippur, for the sets of the blowing of the Shofar, for Yizkor, and for the Hakafot and thrashing of Hoshana Raba.
