Rabbi Isaac Zerachia Azulai was a rabbinic scholar and judge in Jerusalem. He was the father of Rabbi Chaim Yoseph David Azulai, the renowned Chid’a (1724-1807), one of the most prolific and talented Torah scholars of the past several centuries. The Chid’a quotes his father dozens of times in his writings. For a list of citations, see M. Benayahu, R. Chaim Yosef David Azulai, Vol. 2 (1959) pp. 312-15.
