<<Among the most important Kabbalistic texts.>> The Tikunei HaZohar is divided into seventy chapters, or "Tikunim" (plus an additional eleven tikunim from a different manuscript, ff. 136-46). Each tikun expounds upon an interpretation of the word "Bereishith," conforming to the "Seventy Aspects of the Torah." The expositions in the book digress widely, and often focus upon matters not included in the main body of the Zohar, such as, esoterica of the vowel point and accents, wisdom underlying prayer and Halachah, etc. Two widely divergent textual arrangements are found among manuscripts, which are reflected in turn in the present edition, and that of the later, Orta-Koj edition.
