Manuscript in Hebrew and Yiddish written in a large calligraphic hand. Contains bylaws of the Burial Society, regulations for appropriate care of the dying, lists of members (men and women) and in memory of the deceased. Separate list of children who passed away. pp. 22 (excluding many blanks). Stained, few edges chipped. Original boards, distressed. Folio.

Established in 1889, Chevra Bnai Abraham Anshei Chechanover (alternate legal name: Society of the Sons of Abraham, Men of Ciechanow), was located at 225 East Broadway on the Lower East Side of New York. It was populated by Jews, newly arrived in America, who stemmed from the town of Ciechanów in northern Poland.
