This manuscript is a compilation of names to be recited at Yizkor services. The first page and a third are written in a fine, uniform 18th-century hand. Subsequent entries in a variety of calligraphic hands (or attempts!) appear to be added over several decades. There are some fifty entries headed by the word ‘Yizkor’ many of them mentioning more than one person to be memorialized, including pairs of husbands and wives, or parent and child. The entries record donations of specific amounts of money for synagogue necessaries and appurtenances. Most of the names are in traditional form, although some surnames are included, such as Auspitz, Siebenschein and Mehzeritch. The manuscript ends with the text for a name-changing ceremony.
