A devastating critique of the British role in Palestine. William Bernard Ziff (1898-1953) was an American supporter of Revisionist Zionism. The Rape of Palestine, originally published in 1938, contains an exposition of his views; its central claim being that the British Mandate severely betrayed the Jews of Palestine, failing to defend them against Arab aggression and even stoking additional tensions due to their own anti-Semitic attitudes. The Books was declared “violent and offensive” by the British Foreign Office and subsequently banned.
