Johann Leusden (1624-99), professor of Hebrew at Utrecht Universitywas acclaimed for his collaboration with the Amsterdam publisher Joseph Athias leading to their magnificent Biblia Hebraica of 1661, which served as a model for publications of the Hebrew Bible up to the 19th century.
