Buzaglo, Shalom. Kuntress Ma'aseh Hashem [legal opinion concerning the validity of a "get" or bill of divorce, and the legitimacy of children born to another man after the divorce proceedings].

Consisting of three separate works: "Ma'aseh shehayah, kach hayah bedikduk rav;" "Ma'aseh Hashem ki norah hu;" and "Tochachah lashovevim vetakanah lashavim." All three were published in London, 1774 and discovered by Charles Duschinsky in the British Museum who opined that the works were all unicum copies. This legal opinion of the Moroccan kabbalist and resident of London, Shalom Buzaglo, was designed to overturn the ruling of Israel Meshulam Zalman Emden (son of R. Jacob Emden), Rabbi of the Hambro (or Hamburg) Synagogue. Emden declared two brothers "mamzerim" even though the boys' mother had received a Get from R. Saul of Amsterdam (son-in-law of the Chacham Tzvi and brother-in-law of R. Jacob Emden). R. Israel Meshulam Zalman Emden (nephew of R. Saul of Amsterdam) did not recognize the divorce proceedings and declared the woman yet married to her first husband and her sons, conceived to her second husband, to be bastards.
