They have the pleasure to announce that their President has presented a lot of valuable ground, eligibly situated, for the purpose of building a Hospital…” << * With:>> (On integral blank) Autograph Letter Signed, written in English by Rev. Samuel Myer Isaacs to Sir Moses Montefiore. Informing him that monies from Jews in New Orleans and New Haven are being forwarded via Mr. (Philip J.) Joachimsen (American jurist, 1817-90) to benefit “our poor brethren in Palestine.” Isaacs also notes that next month he shall be sending Sir Moses a larger sum from California. New York, 7th December, 1852. With eleven endorsements including: R. Chaim Ozer Grodzenski, R. Shimon Shkop, R. Baruch Ber Leibowitz, R. Elchonon Wasserman, R. Isser Zalman Meltzer, R. Aaron Kotler. Separate paragraph with blessings from the Chofetz Chaim. Tears along folds and margins. 19 x 21 inches.
