An important collection of manuscripts concerning the printing of the Talmud in Italy, and the subsequent Public Burning of these tomes by order of the Pope in 1555. 
Sold for $149,500. Lot 227.
A beautiful liturgical illuminated vellum manuscript of selected prayers by Nathan ben Samson of Mehzeritch, 1728. This fine example of 18th century Jewish art, with particularly well executed illustrations and calligraphy, is in very fresh condition and is being offered at public auction for the first time, having until now remained in private hands. Sold for $59,800. Lot 222
An additional highlight in the manuscript section is Maimonides’ The Book of Precepts, 1492. This manuscript includes almost the entire text of Maimonides’ The Book of Precepts in the original Arabic version. There are only six or seven complete or close to complete manuscript copies of the Arabic version extant. Sold for $23,000. Lot 226
Hebrew Bible printed by Daniel Bomberg in Venice, 1524. This four-volume set was in fine condition. Sold for $86,250. Lot 38
Early printed Hebrew books in magnificent period bindings are also being offered including a Bible in a fine contemporary Grolier-style binding, Antwerp, 1573. Sold for $27,600. Lot 53
A Hebrew Bible, an attractive wide-margined copy of an exceptionally rare Venetian edition, dated 1528. Sold for $25,300. Lot 39
A book of Rabbinic code by Isaac ben Jacob Alfasi, Venice, 1521-2. This is a fine copy of an exceptionally rare and important edition. Sold for $43,700. Lot 3
An early Americana Marriage Contract on paper from 1751. This is one of the earliest American Kethuboth extant. Sold for $17,250. Lot 6
