Ed. / Illustration | Square three tiered hand - made fabric Matzah cover. The bottom layers are blue; two are labelled with a sewn-on tape cross-stitched with the name of the Matzah; each is edged with metallic trim. The top layer is lined in blue, and entirely covered in white beads. Around center, ring of three-dimensional colorful flowers with embroidered leaves. Around perimeter and in center, black emboidered Hebrew blessing recited over Matzah. Upper right, “Eve; ” upper left, “G. L.”; lower edge: 1877. Name for top Matzah emboidered in black on tab at lower edge; purple stitched border; metallic fringe. H: 380mm without fringe. Worn. |
