Burning of these tomes by order of the Pope in 1555.

- A beautiful liturgical illuminated vellum manuscript
of selected prayers by Nathan ben Samson of Mehzeritch,
1728. This fine example of 18th century Jewish art, with
particularly well executed illustrations and calligraphy,
is in very fresh condition and is being offered at public
auction for the first time, having until now remained in
private hands.
